Privacy policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy covers the website ecl-alcpt-trainer.com, published by Novanest ATLAS. The Android app has its own privacy policy.

The short version

There is no account and no sign-up. Your practice progress stays in your own browser. The site shows advertising from Google AdSense, and Google may use cookies to serve and measure those ads, according to your consent choices.

What stays in your browser

To make the trainer useful, your browser's local storage keeps your scores, daily goal, streak, mistake box, favourites and settings (voice, speed, theme, text size, and the translation language you chose). This information is not sent to us. Clearing your browsing data for this site, or using Settings > My data > Erase everything in the trainer, deletes it.

Advertising: Google AdSense

The site is paid for by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, to limit how often you see them, to measure them and to prevent fraud. Depending on your choices and where you live, the ads may be personalised (based on your previous visits to this and other websites) or not personalised.

Google uses the information it receives in line with its own policies. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy. You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings.

Consent and privacy choices

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their consent through Google's consent message before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page.

Read-aloud voices

The Listen button uses the speech engine of your browser and computer. Some browsers use online voices. In that case the text being read is processed by the browser's voice service under its own terms. We do not record or receive it.

Translation

The translator on the lesson and reference pages uses the translation built into your browser when it offers one (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on computers). The translation is made by your browser, on your device: the words you translate are not sent to us. The first time you use a language, your browser may download a language pack from its publisher.

When your browser has no built-in translation, or for a language it does not support, the Google Translate button opens Google's translation website in a new tab, with the text you typed or selected. That text is then handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Google Translate unless you press that button.

Hosting

The site is hosted by GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may record technical information such as IP addresses to keep the service secure. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Links to other sites

Links to Google Play and to official sources open sites that have their own privacy policies.

Children

The site is made for adults preparing for professional English tests. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
